Natural Leaders Awards
This year I had the privelege of designing the Natural Leaders Awards for the Partnership for Sustainable Georgia, a program under the Sustainability Division of the Department of Natural Resources. The awards go to companies in Georgia that are doing an outstanding job of making their industrial processes and workspaces more environmental conscious. My goal was to use as many recycled/reclaimed materials as possible, but still make an award that looked expensive and sharp — something a Manager at Lockheed Martin would be proud to put on his bookcase.
The Natural Leaders Awards Ceremony will take place next week on October 6th in the Loudermilk Center.
Here are some photos so far… they aren’t quite finished yet. I used old bicycle gears, much thanks to Sopo for the donated parts, and marble slabs recovered from a demolished building in Atlanta. One thing I love about the gears is that it really emulates an industrial, tough feel — and most of the companies up for the awards focused on making their manufacturing processes more efficient. I hope the companies that receive the awards will like them…
